Chemical engineering graduate student earns first place in paper competition

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Winters K. Guo, a doctoral student in chemical engineering in the Penn State College of Engineering, recently won first place in the Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Division of the Graduate Student Award Symposium at the American Chemical Society’s national fall meeting.
Guo wrote the paper, “Alkali and alkaline earth ion exchange affinity in ETS-10 toward aqueous lithium separation,” with co-authors Michael Janik, professor of chemical engineering, and Gina Noh, assistant professor of chemical engineering.
